Dear Parents,

Congratulations! Your ward Mast. / Ms. ______________________________________________________ of grade _______- A has qualified the State Level Exam of SpellBee International and is eligible to appear for the National Level SpellBee competition. The instructions & information for the same are as follows:

Rounds of the competition:
  • There will be nine rounds (nine different exercises) for Group 1 & 2 and ten rounds for Group 3 to 6 (ten different exercises) in the National Level Competition.
  • In addition to the seven rounds (Group 1 & 2) and eight rounds (Group 3 to 6) of the State Level competition, two new rounds will be introduced for the National Level Competition. (Please refer to the appendix under the head Competition details in the book.
  • On Registration for National Level competition, a Preparatory book will be supplied to each National Level participant for the additional two rounds. The National Level competition will be conducted in a common venue, on 17th April, 2016 (Sunday). The time and the venue for the same will be intimated to you later.
  • We would also like to remind you that the books already issued for the Inter-School Level and State Level competitions are also applicable for the National Level Competition. The new booklet is meant for the additional two rounds of the competition only.

National Level Registration:
The fees for the National Level Registration is Rs. 500/- and the last day for registration is 4th March, 2016. The same can be sent with the student along with the consent form given below. The National Level booklet will be delivered to the student after the same is received from the SpellBee International in approximately a weeks’ time.

Note:
As the National Level Competition is scheduled to be conducted all over the nation simultaneously, registrations need to be completed on the set date. Registration past the prescribed date will not be considered.

Dear Parents,

As you are aware, the Annual Exhibition ‘ I3’ is scheduled on 26th & 27th Feb, 2016. The students have been allotted Exhibition duty. You are requested to make a note of the points given below:

Reporting particulars:

  • Attendance during the Exhibition duty is mandatory.
  • The timings for the students on these days will be from 10.00 am till 3.15 pm.
  • Students will report to school in their regular school uniform with I-card & bring a tiffin, some dry snacks & a water bottle.
  • Transport facility will be available for the students during the Exhibition duty.
Also Note:
  • Parents are requested to visit the Exhibition not later than 2.15 pm so that they can view all the exhibits displayed.
  • Kindly make a note that the students will be dispersed only at 3.15 pm. Parents are requested not to apply for early dispersal of students during the Exhibition duty.
  • On 29th Feb, 2016 (Monday), the students will take a tour of the entire exhibition. Hence, they should report to the school as per their regular school hours (i.e. 8.30 am till 3.15 pm) only with the class work notebook, tiffin and a water bottle.

Dear Parents,

Times NIE’s has established two unique programs for budding journalists, the Times NIE ‘School Reporters Program’ and ‘Star Correspondence Program’. PDIS is giving an opportunity to your ward Mast./ Ms. ………………………………………………….………………… studying in Grade VII A to participate in the same.

The ‘School Reporters Program’ will comprise of a written test on 29th Feb, 2016 from 10.00 am till 10.40 am followed by a discussion’ and ‘question and answer session’ with Education Minister Shri Vinod Tawade, where students will get an opportunity to ask a question to Education Minister.

Candidates shortlisted after the written test will be interviewed for the eligibility of the Times NIE Star Correspondents at a later date (date will be communicated later by Times NIE). Finally the outstanding candidates shall be selected as Times NIE Star Correspondents and they will be awarded their Times NIE Correspondents’ Badge and a Certificate of Honour. These candidates will thereafter work closely with the Times NIE editorial team for the rest of the Academic Year.

We are pleased to announce an Essay competition for the enthusiastic parents and grandparent members of the PDIS family.

Participants can express their own views or ideas on the current moral, social or economic scenario, the rapidly changing lifestyle etc. on the topics given below. The essay can be written in either of the three languages i.e. English, Hindi or Marathi in approximately 300 words.

Topics for the Essay: :

Dear Parents,

We have successfully completed the First term of the academic year 2015-16 with your kind cooperation and enthusiastic support.

Students will be having a 'Diwali Vacation' from 9th November, 2015 to 20th November, 2015. We wish all our students a happy & refreshing vacation. At the same time, we request all the students to enjoy the festive season safely.

Parents are requested to ensure that the children are in touch with their curriculum by reading newspapers, story books and other educative materials. We do not wish to burden them with studies but request you to make sure that they are in touch with the same. Your co-operation will be highly appreciable.

We wish to share the following information related to the 2nd Term:-

  • Kindly note that first day attendance is compulsory for all the students.
  • Students should come to school in complete Regular Uniform with I-card & proper shoes (as prescribed in the Almanac) or in P.E Uniform (as & when instructed by the school).
  • Prescribed sweaters should be purchased from Romson Uniforms for the winter season.
  • Girls should use black hairband/rubber & tic tack clips to set the hair properly.
  • Accessories like bangles, bindies, fancy compass boxes etc. will not be allowed in the school.
  • Make it a point that your ward carries the books as per the given time-table to the school.
  • There will be regular hobby classes from 23rd November, 2015.

As you are aware, 15th October is the birthday of our loving "Late President Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam". As per the Maharashtra government's order, schools will carry out a "Vaachan Prerna Diwas" or "Reading Day" on this occasion.

PDIS has decided that the students will not bring their books on this day and will participate in activities like reading non-academic books, conducting discussions on books, reading about well-known authors from around the world.

With immense pleasure, PDIS is announcing the commencing of 'Hobby Classes' (After School activity) for Academic Year 2015 – 16. We would like to know your child's interest for the hobby activity.   • Students can opt for Exams conducted by various Government & Private Institutes at Advanced Level. Students will be prepared for Advanced level after completion of Basic Level.
  • Western Instrumental (Guitar & Musical keyboard): Trinity School of London conducts exam twice in a year in the month of June-July & November-December for Advanced level students.
  • Indian Classical (Vocal & Harmonium): Akhil Bhartiya Gandharva Mahavidyalaya, Miraj conducts exam every year in the month of May for Advance level students.
  • Taekwondo (Korean form of Karate) is one of the most systematic and scientific Korean traditional martial arts, that teaches more than physical fighting skills. It is a discipline that shows ways of enhancing our spirit and life through training our body and mind. Today, it has become a global sport that has gained an international reputation, and stands among the official games in the Olympics.
  • Kathak: It is four years diploma course, where exam is conducted by Tilak Maharashtra Vidyapeeth, Pune. Examination will be conducted in the school vicinity with the help of external examiner sent by Vidyapeeth. (Grade II to VII only) Schedule for the same is as follows:
